My Approach

Performing

I strive to bring music to life through thoughtful, expressive, and engaging performances. Whether on stage or in rehearsal, I value close collaboration with my colleagues—fostering a respectful, enthusiastic, and creatively inspired environment.

Teaching

I take a collaborative approach to teaching, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and explore their own musical ideas. My goal is to help students grow not only as musicians, but also as creative, thoughtful individuals who can apply these skills beyond the practice room.

Reedmaking

Reeds shouldn’t be an added stressor for an oboist. I make my reeds to enable my students to play with ease so that the real focus can be on expressive, confident music-making.

  • I teach students of all ages! Whether you’re just starting or wanting to relearn the oboe after time off, I will tailor a lesson plan to you and your goals.

  • No! Any microphone will do the trick. The key is to set up in a quiet space so there is no interference with your playing.

  • Lessons are offered in either 30-minute or 60-minute sessions.
